I started watching the French production on YouTube, and adored what I saw, but sadly the user only uploaded the the first part.
I hope they don't tone it down for Broadway, and that the spectacle and delicious decadence remains. From the clips I saw the French production was truly sensational.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. The French "spectacles" are distinctly European, all glitz and glamour - and no-one sings live if I remember rightly. I'm not that familiar with Mozart, but I do have a fondness for Le Roi Soleil, the previous show by the same creative team.
Truth be told, I'd rather you got the Austrian Mozart! musical, with its weird-ass concept of the child Mozart on stage at all times representing the horrific muse that compels Mozart to write music, including writing music in his own blood...
I thought this was about the Levay/Kunze "Mozart!" They wrote Rebecca and Elisabeth.
"Carson has combined his passion for helping children with his love for one of Cincinnati's favorite past times - cornhole - to create a unique and exciting event perfect for a corporate outing, entertaining clients or family fun."
I'm probably too big a fan of the Austrian version to embrace this fully. Drew Sarich singing 'Wie wird man seinen Schatten los?' (How do I lose his shadow?) Legendary number.
Why don't you go? Why don't you leave Manderley? He doesn't need you... he's got his memories. He doesn't love you, he wants to be alone again with her. You've nothing to stay for. You've nothing to live for really, have you?
