I'd audition but there's no color-blind casting for this one ... yet

Hello.you should Never put limitations on yourself. If there's an audition and you feel you fit the role and have a passion for it... Go for it.

Are you actually suggesting that non-African Americans should show up to your audition? REALLY?

That would be insulting to the play as well as paint the auditioner as ignorant.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

So, a color-blind "Raisin in the Sun" would be insulting? Is all color-blind casting insulting, or just in this case?

P.S. I'd never show up for an audition of this show ...

@drama that would definitely be a yes. There is a non "African-American" role in this play. My post was regarding all aspects not just of color and NOT of just this show.Because the post I replied to was very general. And one should research and ask questions when looking to audition to see if it indeed would make sense and be a goid fit . Just promoting love and positivity. Thank you.
