What a thrill to see an another A-lister joining the show, she is first rate, it seems she is still memorizing her lines, but it was extremely enjoyable. I think Miss Parsons was invested a bit more into the role though.
Matt, Kelli, Robyn, Michael, Jennifer, Judy and the rest of the cast get better and better each time! They are simply divine.

Her career can't get much better. She's a big timer...she's made millions! But wonderful she is. I think Estelle Parsons was a bit better in "Nice Work", because she was a bit "wilder" than Blythe, but a thrill to see her on B'way nevertheless.

I saw Blythe last week and it was great to see her back on stage. I will say that Estelle portrayed the character much grander and diva-like but Blythe seems to be still working the character to suit her own style. It is such a fun show with a marvelous cast of characters, I'm sure she will settle in soon. Congratulations to the show for a S'wonderful week at the box office.
The only review of a show that matters is your own.
This is one show that has been unjustly maligned by too many. It is a total delight (even with a clodhopper -albeit charmingly endearing - leading man.)
I remember there were reports of Blythe Danner going up on lines throughout the run of Suddenly, Last Summer at the Roundabout in 2006. I remember I saw it near the end of the run and she was clearly prompted one or two times.
A wonderful actress to be sure, but not an isolated occurrence.
Danner went up quite frequently in previews for SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER but got it mostly together by opening. That said, they ended up keeping a prompter backstage for the entire run.
As others have mentioned, this role is small. She should be able to get to 100% much easier than with a large role like Mrs Venable.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."

I was actually reminiscing Blythe's performance and I must say that Estelle Parsons' performance was far superior, she was sassy and delivered her lines with much more pizzazz. Estelle actually remembered her lines, AND she cried at the end, which made the finale more touching.
