Unfortunately I do not think you will get a ticket. I have tried getting a ticket on a whim that late, and was out of luck. That is especially popular because it maybe the last time people can rush the show to see Cristina. This is assuming they dont have rush on closing day. TDF it, it is worth it. From what ive heard a lot of TDF are in the orchestra! Ive sat in the last row of the orch via TKTS and then the front row via Rush, and both experiences were great!
I've read reports online from hardcore Elena fans who do well with rush and have seen the show twenty times or more; they're all college students. They've been obsessing lately with how to commemorate the final performance. You may do well with rush on Max's night, though, because the Elena fans are dedicated but sadly in the minority.
I substitute usher at the Marquis, and I have a friend who works on the show, so I have been around all of the Evita fans. They are an interesting group.
I can't believe the range of people who cry over any sort of acknowledgment from Ricky. I think every age group and gender is represented.
Most of Elena's obsessive fans are really young (like 14-16). There are, like, three college students. They are pretty self aware and have a sense of humor about the situation. Elena seems to gravitate towards them to escape the crazier ones at the stage door. It's funny to watch.
And there are a couple of repeat offenders who come for Rachel Potter and Max.
I got in line at 8:45ish this morning and was about 12 people back. I had no problem getting tickets. The first person was there at 7am. I am looking forward to seeing Max as Che since I've already seen Ricky twice.
TDF has more tickets available for DeCicco's performance on Wednesday and also for Thursday night's performance. I snagged a Wednesday night one. It's only $11 more and now I don't have to wait in the cold.
Rushed this morning (Tuesday) and arrived at 9:15. I believe I was 15th in line. By 10, the line doubled, and it seemed like most got a ticket! My seat is right orch, row L, all the way to the side. Pretty good seat for $38! Was going to line up earlier but slept in due to the snow haha.
Watch out for the fan girls-they are out in full force this week. I sat near a cluster last night that have pet names for Elena. When a pre-show announcement came across to note an understudy they freaked thinking Elena was out and quoted the lyrics "we wouldn't mind seeing her at Herrod's, but behind the jewelry counter not in front" in regards to Christina DeCicco.
I heard similar comments like this when I saw Christina as Eva. It was during Elena's vacation though so clearly they were there by choice. People are so silly.
I am 99.9% sure they will not be having rush for closing. They don't have many seats left and, what happened last Saturday, they just won't have a rush for the evening. The matinee, on the other hand, has a lot of seats opened.
