Long life indeed! And wow, she looked terrific, especially for her age, in this red carpet interview (Television Hall of Fame ceremony to induct Vivian Vance and William Frawley) from early March of this year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6G1DOqho-Gc
Lovely words from Lucie Arnaz in the link Almira provided.
I didn't know her personally, but--just from the 'People' obit:
Television pioneer Worked on an incredible roster of television programs (Edith's hotel room-mate on 'All in the Family'!!) Was still doing interviews as recently as 2005 Married for 61 years (!)
It seems like a charmed existence.
RIP, Doris
You think, what do you want?
You think, make a decision...
"Carolyn, stop cackeling! I've been waiting for years for you to lay that egg!"
RIP!

Actually, Lucy said the cackeling line to Marion Strong, after telling her that her new hat was the silliest hat she'd ever seen. Lucy referred to Carolyn Applebee's new Chinese-influenced furniture as "a bad dream you'd have after eating too much Chinese food." I also loved during the card game when Lucy said to Carolyn, "For heaven's sake, Carolyn, when are you going to get a new deck of cards? We've been playing with this same shabby ol' deck since I've known you."
Thanks West Village...I had a feeling I might have gotten that wrong.
