I believe Sonia Swaby has had a child or 2.... she is a huge talent with an amazing voice and would love to see her back in the west end. One of my favourite memories of her was at the Martin Smith Tribute Memorial, where she opened the show with 'Just So'
Handful Of Keys! Prince Edward Theatre. Lily Savge did 'What You Don't Know' from City Of Angels as a tennis game and the embarrassing John Barrowan forgetting his song, stopping the show to start again! God he was awful! That was at the very beginning, after that it was a brilliant tribute spectacular! I was in the front row stalls, fresh from a night at the Fridge!!!!! Well, it was a favorite haunt of Mr Smith!
The following Sunday Lily Savage made the video 'Paying The Rent' at he Fortune Theatre and I can be seen lots on that but it was a great evening cos Lily did a collection for Martin, they were very close friends.
Mamma.... i dont think anyone was ever 'fresh' after a night at the Fridge... LOL It was my regular haunt and i was even a barman there around that time....
The Handful of Keys evening was so special... i have clear memories of Sally Ann Triplett singing East River Calling, a song Martin wrote, and punching the air at the end... I had forgotten all about Lilly in it.... Martin Smith had a beautiful tone to his voice and the video of him singing Sands of Time from Tautenkahmen gives me chills everytime. I saw him in Phantom too... but it wasnt his best. Is it true he got axed from the role??
But to bring this back to the original post.... I havent heard of Schzwae Powell doing anything in years, but loved her in CoE and 70 girls, 70!
