Well that's a coup for them! I have to say I'm a bit suprised Creel is doing a national tour (though I have to imagine this will be a true first class tour)...but I guess everyone has bills to pay...
Have to say I'm quite surprised. I could maybe have seen him taking over on Broadway or maybe even heading up the show when it goes to London. I wouldn't have had him down as taking the tour but good for him, I'm sure it'll be a first rate production.
Also, clearly I'm really out the gossip loop because I had no idea about him and Andrew Rannells!
WELL, when you are as cute and talented as Rannells is, I'm sure it's not difficult to find someone new to date! AND, he's in the hottest show on Broadway.
I'm sorry, but isn't Gavin a touch too old to be playing a 19 year old?

Yes, but people on the fence about seeing the show may decide to go when they see "two-time Tony nominee" in the PR materials. Not a bad move, strategically!

I love him so much and applaud his getting very far away from Ms Diane P. I will make an effort to see this tour if there is such a thing as a ticket available.
Proctor's up my way just announced their next season and it's all sloppy seconds...no Mormon. Oh well, back to the lottery tomorrow and Saturday night.
When David's press release came out, I thought he WAS going into B.O.M....

This is wonderful news. This might actually get me to see Book of Mormon if it comes to San Diego. It wasn't announced for this season so I'm kind of thinking Gavin will be gone by the time it gets here, but who knows.
And I figured they were dating when I saw the Godspell opening night pics. Odd that Gavin was dating Jonathan Groff and then ended up playing Claude on Broadway and now he's dating Rannells and playing Elder Price on the road. Crafty. Does he even need an agent at this point?
Very interesting casting. He'll have a much different take compared to Andrew Rannells. And I think it's wonderful that Gavin is touring. I don't really get the stigma. It's a 1st national, that used to be a big deal. It shouldn't be looked down upon to star in a national tour. It's not the same as creating the role, sure, but neither is starring in a revival or replacing on Broadway.
