About the play: In 1921, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison and President Warren G. Harding took a camping trip into the Maryland woods. Although their evening escape was fictional, it is true that Henry Ford and Thomas Edison often took these camping trips. As it turned out, it was Edison's last and President Harding's only trip. Inspired by actual events, Camping with Henry and Tom, by Mark St. Germain, explores the friendship, politics, and leadership of three great historical figures in both a comedic and dramatic fashion.
