'The King’s Speech' transfers directly to the West End next month delaying any extended tour until September.
Adrian Noble’s production, which stars Charles Edwards and Jonathan Hyde, is to run at the Wyndham’s Theatre from March 22nd . It is currently touring until March 17th.

The film starring Colin Firth last year stormed the box office taking $400 million worldwide and swept the awards, taking seven Baftas and four Oscars. But could the stage version be set to repeat its success in the theatre circuit?
Dismissed as a money-making scheme by cynics, the new critically lauded stage production of the film has proved many of us wrong.

A fortnight after its first unveiling, at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford, the play has been snapped up for a stint at Wyndham's Theatre on 22nd March.
'The King's Speech', which stars Charles Edwards as King George VI, is currently touring regional UK theatres, stopping at Nottingham, Bath, Brighton, Richmond and Newcastle before its West End transfer.

The stage version has received universally glowing reviews, with no suggestion at all that Edwards' portrayal of the stutter-ridden 'Bertie' will be diminished by the shadow of Firth's Oscar-winning performance.

I will see this, but this production has to be stunning, as the film really was, the acting has to be top notch as Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush and Helen Bonham Carter were magnificent in there respective roles and the film will always will be the barometer of excellence, did I say I will go, well maybe!

Besides a good point for this is, when they brought the best film of all time to stage and the word was at the time that it was a abortion, glad I gave that one a wide birth.
