Is Hoffman actually in the show or is he just a swing?

...I can't be the only one who immediately thought this about Philip Seymour Hoffman, right?

I had the same thought, Kad.

Just for fun, imagine how he would do replacing HCJ.

This is a serious thread. Please don't make me do the whole throwing up in my mouth thing.

I won't spoil your thread, jordy. But can't you just hear Seymour Hoffman mumbling the title song?

No. I'm already dreading the thought of having to hear him mumble through SALESMAN.

Standby for Connick

I wonder if HE can hit all the notes...

Hit all the notes, that is before he leaves to play Willy...

I'm sure they can just re-write it to fit him. They just have to make Dr. Bruckner a slovenly shut-in who believes his life is a failure and struggles to write a book and bam! Perfect role for Hoffman.

I'd see that!

But in seriouslyness - I want to ask Hoffman to sign my INTO THE WOODS poster. Is he not in the show each night?

I can see the press release (or the intern shill on BWW's boards, whichever comes first): "Philip Seymour Hoffman IS Davey Gamble! He dances across the stage!"

Sorry. Carry on,

Who wouldnt want to see him in as nearly a romantic scene as the revisal allows with Harry Connick?

Jordan -- no, he's not in the show nightly. And he's not Connick's standby. Sean Allan Krill is. Hoffman's the standby for the "older guy" parts (the older version of the accompanist, etc)
