Declining confidence in the nation’s economic prospects appears to be the most powerful force influencing voters as the presidential election gears up, undercutting key areas of support for President Obama and helping give his Republican challenger, Mitt Romney, an advantage on the question of who would better handle the nation’s economic challenges, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News Poll.
Despite months of negative advertising from Mr. Obama and his Democratic allies seeking to further define Mr. Romney as out of touch with the middle class and representative of wealthy interests, the poll shows little evidence of any substantial nationwide shift in attitudes about Mr. Romney.
But with job growth tailing off since spring and the Federal Reserve chairman, Ben S. Bernanke, wondering aloud whether the labor market is “stuck in the mud,” the poll showed a significant shift in opinion about Mr. Obama’s handling of the economy, with 39 percent now saying they approved and 55 percent saying they disapproved.

Rendition, the practice of moving a detainee to a country with more severe interrogation policies -- "Current and former U.S. officials," according to The Associated Press, "say that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, provided the nom de guerre of one of bin Laden's most trusted aides. The CIA got similar information from Mohammed's successor, Abu Faraj al-Libi. Both were subjected to harsh interrogation tactics inside CIA prisons in Poland and Romania."

The initial threads of intelligence began surfacing in 2003 and came in the form of information about a trusted bin Laden courier, a senior U.S. official told Fox News on condition of anonymity. The information included an alias for the courier. Bin Laden had cut off all traditional lines of communication with his network by this time because the Al Qaeda leader knew the U.S. intelligence community was monitoring him. It was said that he also didn't even trust his most loyal men to know his whereabouts and instead communicated only through couriers.

Interesting video (wrong AGAIN, Romantico!). Bush is correct in stating that OBL had been marginalized and was either on the run or hiding out in some cave.
However, I am not sure what this has to do with my previous post. Please consider the following"

1. The death of OBL was connected to a courier who was very close to the man.

2. The existence of this courier came to light in 2003 using enhanced interrogation techniques.

3. The identity of this courier was revealed in 2007 using the same techniques.

4. The techniques used to gain intelligence regarding this courier were techniques that the Democratic Party and Barack Obama in particular, campaigned against.

I know there was a lot more to it than that, but the id of that courier was CRUCIAL to finding OBL, and much of the intelligence about him was acquired during the presidency of George W. Bush.

That video is sooo ridiculous. The GOP should be very proud of the way they took advantage of that poor woman's grief.

If Obama had said it you may be able to point out an insensitivity. But he didn't. Yet the woman (standing in front of a Tea Party banner) repeatedly scolds Obama for the arrogance, never mentioning Clinton, the person who actually said the words.

What Clinton said is true. And, taken in context by a non-grieving, reasonable person, is not in any way an insensitive thing to say, since he's not referring to himself. He wasn't saying, "oh poor me and how I might have suffered." He's stating a fact. He's not saying Obama would have suffered MORE than the mothers of those soldiers. He's not discounting their suffering in any way.

Then she makes the leap to blame Obama for endorsing the ad, trying to transfer Clinton's words to him through the endorsement. Doesn't work that way. If Obama endorses an ad where a woman says she would never have an abortion, that doesn't mean he's saying he would never have an abortion. He's just approving of her having that sentiment.
