And not everything off Broadway has to have a Broadway transfer. As this season proves, a transfer does not automatically equal high ticket sales.

Glad it’s staying off Broadway (and I wasn’t a big fan of the show). Not everything should be on Broadway, yer we go through the same motions every time.

The announcement says tix go on sale in June, to coincide with the cast recording. I don’t see where that was announced before (unless i missed it) so I’m happy that’s happening.

I'm curious if they'll continue working on the show (which certainly received mixed reviews).  I'm sure they'll have the usual preview period followed by an opening, but if they don't get the responses they want at that point would they continue to make tweaks throughout the run?

Are you asking if the show will open at New World with no changes from what was seen at Playwrights Horizons?  Highly unlikely

Oh I definitely think there will be changes from the Playwrights version.  But the show overall still feels to me very much like a work in progress that could go through another few rounds before reaching its "final" version.  So are they thinking that whatever changes they make for the NWS version (plus whatever happens in previews) would just be locked in as that final version?  The creators seemed pretty dedicated to working on the piece and trying out different things with it, so I think if it still receives a mixed response at NWS they would continue to tinker with it, and so would that mean they continue to implement changes after their opening at NWS (which would make their entire open-ended run essentially just a development production?). I could be overthinking this but I think an open-ended run seems to be an interesting choice for a show that could still have a lot of development ahead of it.

Well at least one person (Helen Shen) can't return, since she's leading Maybe Happy Ending.

Curious to see how this will do in a commercial Off-Broadway setting. Assuming they go into one of the 499-seat NWS houses, that's still a LOT of seats to fill every week for a niche property, and the show could benefit from a grungier vibe surrounding it.

Agreed. Theres obviously talent and money behind it,  but I think this show would benefit from a downtown venue.

gosh, I want this to do well but I can't help but feel like this will be gone in three months or so. I know there were folks that didn't get to see it that would buy tickets...but not sure this has legs. or Teeth.

Yeah, that's a given. She actually left a few weeks before the show ended for The Lonely Few, so I'd assume her replacement would be the one transferring. I guess I was moreso wondering about the leads. Really hope Alyse Alan Louis transfers.

Announcing an open-ended run immediately seems like a poor decision.

Start with 10 weeks, then add another 15, then go from there. Actually build some momentum and create scarcity in the market.

I think you can safely assume Alyse Alan Louise moves with it since she got lauded for her performance and according to social media she's been attached since its inception. Unless David Stone wants to make her the next Glinda or something.

This show is going to die at NWS along with everything else that has been struggling there for the last year. Waiting almost 5 months to transfer is a huge mistake
