Saw it yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved the intimate staging. Everything you've heard here about Sheldon, who makes Horace likable and funny throughout, and the silver-voiced and enchanting Brown is true. Klea's Dolly completely won me over. Don't expect Merman-light. I was more reminded of Booth than Merman. Klea brings it all: copious charm, period style femininity and an irresistible warmth along with her remarkable musical and comic chops. The dining scene was a treat. Everything she does is right, simple, winning and has an effortless ebullience. Many wonderful staging touches and the show never seemed to drag for a second.
