He is just the coolest guy. I know it won't happen (I expect the HAMILTON guys to cancel each other out, and Danny Burstein to take the award), but for me, the best thing about the SHE LOVES ME revival is Zachary's performance. I saw the original many, many years ago, and i will never forget it, but Zachary as Georg is the true heartbeat of this production. His work is simple and true and unforgettable.
Levi's a natural as an emcee. Just a couple of weeks ago, he hosted the Lucille Lortel Awards. Plus, he has emceed "Geeks Who Drink," a TV trivia game show for Syfy, and Spike TV's Video Game Awards. And he's a host of NerdHQ, his annual pop-culture confab in San Diego. One of my favorite moments was when Scott Bakula was his guest, and the two of them did a number from "Godspell."
Wayman Wong, that's one of the best researched interviews I've read in a long time. Well done! So many times the interviewer hasn't a clue what they're asking about! Zac of course would make any interview sound good, but you were awesome with the questions! Thanks!
Jayne3, thanks for being so nice and noticing all the research. I've found that good questions lead to good answers. Besides, I hate seeing interviews where I learn nothing new. It's a waste of my time, the subject's time and the reader's time. ... And you never know who might be reading. I just got an email from Jonathan Groff, who was tickled to see Zac's quote about him in "Hamilton."
By the way, you're a fan of Jonathan Groff AND "She Loves Me," you might enjoy this vintage clip of him singing "Try Me." It's from "Leading Men III," our 2008 benefit concert for Broadway Cares.
