Having missed out on tickets, just barely, when they went on tickets in San Francisco, I now need to learn more about the cancellation line. I'm pleasantly surprised with the cast (at least, the ones I know).

The sound is the one thing that I am concerned about regarding the tour. I saw the Chicago production on 12/30/16 and was amazed at how clear the sound quality was, especially given the nature of many of the songs. I am not convinced that same level of perfection will be able to be achieved at all of the tour stops, which will make many of the songs difficult to understand.

I wish this were still going to be the cast when the tour goes cross-country.

Any official word coming on other cities yet? So far, officially announced cities with dates and/or venues include San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Houston, and Washington, DC.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but the tour website lists Ryan Alvarado as the tour's Hamilton, Burr, and King George standby.

And Ryan Vasquez is the understudy. I'm at the Comet/Hamilton Tour concert and he said that he's plays James Reynolds but understudies Hamilton, Burr, and Washington.

Julia Harriman is the standby for the three sisters.

The tour is starting and yet Pantages single tickets are not on sale yet. Is that normal? What do you believe is causing the delay? Do they just want to minimize the time a scalper has to have them on the market?

A legitimate concern. Especially as the tour continues into ever-larger venues with shorter engagements in coming years. ...and frankly I'd be worried in SF as the Orpheum Theatre is notoriously difficult for sound engineers. Luckily, they're originating here, have their top people working on it and will be adjusting over the 4-5 months of the run. On the plus side, I've gotta' believe that they have some top engineers working on the tour and they're hopefully given the time and resources to tune the production to the road houses.

Finally, there's the matter of the words and how they sit on the notes and beats. When I saw Hamilton a couple of years ago, the recording had not yet been released, and I'm frankly not used to hip-hop. I found it very easy to follow - and much of that is due to the way lyrics are written and the songs are composed and orchestrated. Compare this to "Matilda," where there have been complaints about the unintelligibility of many of the lyrics, especially as sung by the children. Yes, there's the English accent to account for (although it's been lessened as time as gone on) and the fact that the singers are young. Yet, no matter what, the lyrics don't come through in may songs. I put that down to a consciousness on how the lyrics sit on the song and how a theater audience will process them. Hamilton is especially good in this regard.

I'm looking at the website and a lot of the tour dates overlap, do you think they are going to do what The Book of Mormon did and turn the Chicago production into a second tour? Sorry if this has been addressed.

^there was a discussion about it on the Chicago Hamilton thread and I'd say that is the likely scenario

I wish there was a way to post/link this, but a number of the Angelica tour cast members have posted videos of yesterday's sitzprobe on their Instagram stories... and they sound utterly glorious. Isaiah's final note for "One Last Time" on Amber Iman's Instagram story was a highlight for me. Here are two actual posts I could find (would love more!), both from Rory! (see 1 and 2)

those links to Rorys instagram show the entire cast and orchestra rehearsing in the lobby at the orpheum

anyone outside those doors would have enjoyed an incredible free concert of the musical

It was discussed in the Chicago thread and yes it does appear that way. After January 2018

Yeah, I was wondering about the sitzprobe being held in the front part of the lobby -- I imagine the rolling door in front of the Orpheum wouldn't be down if the box office was open, so that would be fun to hear!

Same here- I find it very odd they've waited this long. Many people are already planning their summer schedules- and it's very hard to not be able to plan out these tickets. Can anyone speak on the decision to hold off? Are they scared of scalpers?

They are allowing season ticket holders at the Pantages to buy extra tickets from March 21 to April 9..  My guess for single tickets going on sale would be May -but that is just a guess.  Sf tickets went on sale 3 months before opening.

Very good to know, conealpetterson! Where did you get that information? I'm a season ticket holder and this is the first I'm hearing of it.

emo_geek, I got an email from the Pantages at the beginning of February and a letter yesterday about ticket exchanges and purchase of additional tickets.  The info is also in your season ticket account on their site.  Hope that helps.
