No heels. Bedazzled Converse. Smaller brace. Can bend his knee now but still can't get up on the car or go down stairs. Still doing curtain call from back of the stage. All that said, he does run and hop around on it surprisingly well.

No idea, but he's worked it in pretty thoroughly and made it unbelievably hilarious.

The question you should be asking isn’t if he’ll get healthier during the run but whether he’ll re-injure himself. It’s my completely uninformed and unprofessional opinion that he probably won't recover completely until he rests. And he’s not resting at all right now: when I saw the show I got the feeling he was pushing himself and moving as much as he could. Anyone debating whether to see it now or wait a month in hopes he’ll improve should realize there’s a greater chance that he won’t be on in a month than there is that he’ll return to pre-injury form. You don’t physically heal by performing a demanding show 7 times a week.

Does anyone know what the standing room only ticket lines are like? How early should I show up to get a ticket?

they haven't been selling SRO tickets since NPH left the show.

They've sold standing room the last two Saturday 7:00 pm shows I've been to. 2 weeks ago there were only a few people standing. Last week I bought 2 of the last ticket at 6:15 (seemed to have gone on sale around 6:00), and the last two spots never sold.

ACL not true. They do it far less frequently now because the show has to sell out in order to issue standing room, and that doesn't happen often since NPH left, but they do still do it. I was at the 10pm on Valentine's Day. It was sold out and many ppl got standing room that night.

Did anyone go last night? Just read on SM that he's back to the decent from the rafters entrance (that he hasn't done since his injury). Can anyone confirm?

The 7:00 show with JCM gets out around 8:50/8:55.

Where did you read about the entrance change? I'm going to see it next Friday, I wanna know what's going on so far in term of changes.

Tumblr (she said sheepishly). I asked the poster for more detail and she said that JCM did indeed fly in, albeit still in Converse. He also called someone up on stage for the car wash. All the other changes are still intact but it sounds like he's getting better.

That's great to hear. I'm really wishing that by this time next week he'll be braceless and back in his heels. Oh well, one can dream.

I was at last night's show--they did indeed go back to the dropping in entrance, but he does still have the brace and is still considerably less mobile. It's not correct that he called someone up for the carwash, however; he actually went back to lowering himself onto the front row far left seat and car washed the woman there. Perhaps not as vigorously as pre-injury. He did call someone up for the Grindr bit though.

My impression, basically, is that he know this is it for him and he's intent on not shorting any of the audiences.

Anyone going to tonight's 10:00 show? In an interview JCM said that Karen O would be there. I love her. I was wondering if he might incorporate her into the show. If anyone goes tonight, please tell us about it.

I just got tickets to the March 27 10:00pm Show. VERY excited- was only able to get second row center which is awesome but i find being front row to be super thrilling.

I agree that he isn't moving around as much as he would if he wasn't injured, but I think the show made up for it by adding a lot of other things. JCM also improvises a lot more than any other a Hedwig before him, which I enjoyed. The 10:00pm show last night was CRAZY. After "Origin of Love" these two men got into a very loud argument over the other's singing which caused the show to come to a screeching halt. JCM tried to get their attention because they kept yelling at each other back and forth and he had to scream at them to shut up. Luckily this is a show where the fourth wall is addressed otherwise this would have been tremendously painful to watch play out. JCM handled them very well, but I still couldn't believe how rude these two guys were. I understand that this show has a very rock concert atmosphere, but it is still a Broadway show nonetheless and proper theatre etiquette should be followed. They also added a bit where Hedwig takes Yitzhak's phone and looks for someone in the audience on Grindr and he brings a man up on stage with him for a couple minutes.

My friend and I came to NYC from Canada this week and got to see JCM on Wednesday night. It was seriously a dream come true and I don't have to tell anyone here how phenomenal the show is. I think even better with the brace! (We saw NPH before - me twice, her once). JCM is just so much more natural, quick witted, and raw in the role. I knew I would be blown away but the emotional aftermath was even more than I could have imagined.

I'm going to ask a very cringey question now that I normally wouldn't ask, but I'm wondering and you folks know much more about the ins and outs of Broadway than I do. I would really like to send fan mail to JCM. Is that something that can be done to the Belasco? If at all possible I would love to send a Playbill for signing with a SASE - wondering if anyone has had any experience with this with JCM or any other Broadway stars. Normally not my kind of thing to do but I feel compelled.

Overall a completely amazing trip full of theatre - JCM, Alan Cumming in Cabaret and Sleep No More. Also, after seeing Alan Cumming's brief bits of ad-libbing in Cabaret, I completely understand why so many of you have suggested he play Hedwig. He would be a blast.

This was an old bit. It orginally was one of those old public phones from the street. Yitzhak had to carry it around the stage behind Hedwig, while Hedwig was on the phone. Yitzhak was lagging behind so Hedwig told him to hurry up, that this was a "mobile" phone. It got a lot of laughs back then. The person he was looking for in the audience was his agent, Phyllis Stein. (get it? Phyllistein!)
