But I miss the Starobin orchestrations and I can't deal with that cheesy synthesizer.

These ARE Starobin's orchestrations.....

Anyone who bought the album from iTunes know if the song lyrics are included in the album booklet? Also if there is a way to post the digital booket on here, I'd love to see it, as I won't be getting the album until the physical release next month. :)

I noticed that on the album the lines about the bald spot have been restored. I'm pretty sure they are still about a hairline in the theatre, what's up with that? I think bald spot works better but still.

I'd guess that could be attributed to Andrew Rannels having such a great head of hair - even the hairline quip doesn't make much sense given his appearance.

I have a question for those of you who've seen the show. I'm new at it and i' m getting into it...what does the march of the falsettos song means? Is it a Trina's fantasy? What's the purpose? Listening to the cast album I can't figure it out...??

Because of where it appears in the show, it can be interpreted as Trina's fantasy, but it doesn't have to be (because the show is only occasionally fixed in time and place).

To oversimplify what I think is a brilliant number, "falsettos" among males are boys whose voices haven't changed yet. The song is about the essential immaturity of the men and how they don't seem to mature beyond Jason's age.

It's a metaphorical number (as is Marvin and Whizzer's duet after Whizzer is dead, to take just one other example) and doesn't have to be anybody's literal dream. Yet I have no argument against the idea that it is Trina's fantasy.

My main problem with the new album is they slow down the end of Please Come To Our House (the "Why don't you feel alright" part). It was a lot faster and more energetic in the original recording, and this new version is just sluggish and dull. Other than that, I love it.

I finally got my physical copy yesterday!

The mixing is of course en pointe as is expected from Ghostlight. Gotta say I don't know when the last double CD released in a full double jewel case was, I suppose it was done to accommodate the relatively large booklet, although Ghostlight often opts for cardboard sleeves even with double discs like IN THE HEIGHTS and NEXT TO NORMAL. Maybe it's a retro callback to the early 90s haha.

It's so amazing to have this recording. Finally a full recording and despite the lyrical changes I don't think I'll be revisiting the original recordings as often now.

Hamilton was also released in a clunky double jewel case.

So true, pardon my forgetfulness. I didn't get the physical CD that time, I'm sure in that case it was due to a chunky booklet.

Anyone know if/when this will be available to stream, specifically on Spotify? I saw earlier in this thread someone mentioned 90 days from the release in mid-December, but I think that time has passed.

Thanks!

Is it just me or do other people think Brandon and Andrew often sound the same?  Had I not seen the musical/know who is singing when, I might not always be able to tell them apart.  There's something about their tone that is similar to my ear at least on the recording.  I didnt notice it at all live.

Maybe just me...but wondering if others had same reaction.
