You remember Hocus Pocus? The movie Bette Midler made after she turned down Sister Act (and as a result Sister Act 2)?
It seems that Bette would consider making a sequel to Hocus Pocus. Someone needs to tell her to stop.

Are you calling Hocus Pocus the worst movie because...

There was a ton of support/praise for the movie in that Reddit thread.
She says she has no way to make the movie, and it's up to Disney, so not exactly sure what we are telling her to stop doing... she isn't doing anything. She'd reteam with actresses she enjoyed making a movie if someone wrote and greenlit it?!
Keep in mind, it takes a lot to make a stew. She is only one ingredient.

Hocus Pocus is an all-time classic.
What's the correlation between this movie and Bette turning down Sister Act? If you mean to imply that this is some poor substitute, then you are wrong. If you mean to imply that she made this instead of Sister Act, then you are wrong. Kathy Najimy was in both, so why not Bette?
I would LOVE a sequel. I wouldn't expect it to match the original, but even if it was half as good, I'd be oh-so-happy.
And Steve from corporate, too.
Is that you in the middle, Goth? :P

She did make this instead of Sister Act. Sister Act was written with her in mind but she turned it down.
I know she turned Sister Act down, but wasn't that in the mid-80s? It was years before Whoopi came on board. Hocus Pocus would still have been made regardless.

And yet the thread title didn't warrant fixing?
If you look at any actor's resume, you will see some pretty amazing stuff they turned down. The only flaw in that logic is thinking the version that would have been made with them would have also been a hit, since there is no way to know... hindsight is easy if you just swap people in and out of things and get to keep whether it was a hit or not, despite it being an entire different movie that was never made, with potentially different behind the scenes writers and directors, as well as co-stars, that would be released at different times, against different competition... but, yes, barring all that, it's an interesting theory.
I can't wait for her Mae West .

'Hocus Pocus' is far from Bette Midler's worst movie.
Seriously. If we're making a "worst" list, I'll start it off with DROWNING MONA.
Drowning Mona is a good start, but let's also not forget The Women, isn't She Great and Stella. Let's also not forget she was also supposed to star in Misery and turned that down also...
I keep reading this thread title as "For Better or Worse Movie"
Awww I was hoping for an "Isn't She Great: 2" much in the same vain as "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls."

I don't really see how a sequel would work, given that the witches DID explode into dust, but then I guess they could easily just be resurrected because, well, magic.
It would be fun nostalgia for everyone who enjoys the original, but it may also kind of take away from it. It stands alone as a cult classic that sort of became a mainstream favourite over the years.
Not sure what the "worst movie" thread title thing is about though. Must be a typo because that movie is GOLD.
When I was a kid this movie came on various channels during Halloween and I always looked forward to it because of the three witches. It's become a nostalgic piece of entertainment that I'll never get sick of watching.
A sequel wouldn't be terrible but they have to get a good writer to warrant it's existence.
FUN FACT: Did you know that MALEFICENT writer Linda Woolverton provided a draft of the script that was a slightly different version of the final film?
The people have spoken! #HocusPocus2https://twitter.com/hashtag/HocusPocus2?src=hash">#HocusPocus2 is trending; so thrilled you want a sequel. But where is the virgin to light the candle??

I can't believe that there is a thread about Bette's worst movie and NO ONE has mentioned Jinxed. That movie virtually sank her career. For years.
