I'm all Team Sasha myself, and frankly wouldn't mind a bit if Trinity didn't make it past Final 5. But I've felt for a long time that Sasha's brand of humor and design style is just too damn intellectual and -- dare I say it-- elitist for Mama Ru's brand. Her Marlene Deitrich was for me the true high point of Snatch Game, and her red outfit for the Michelle Roast was a brilliant sendup of Helena Rubinstein which had me in stitches. So now I think it's high time Sasha wowed us all with a full-on naked show-girl pageant look like the ones Trinity is addicted to. Michelle Visage and Ru would probably fall all over themselves praising Sasha's power to reinvent herself for the masses.

It certainly seems like the judges favor Trinity's crass, not particularly exciting drag over Sasha, who just owned it last night. I agree this is the best makeover challenge the show has ever done. I loved the rapport between the queens and the crew, and RuPaul seemed genuinely emotional.

I get the argument that Trinity's routine was better (or at least more advanced) but it's hard to tell since we saw so little of it.

I agree that Sasha should have won this week, but I've also grown to really love Trinity. Alexis seems to follow the route of Tatianna during Season Two (Snatch Game win, could have gone home a few times, does okay in makeover, leaves before top three).

Got my tickets to see the finale taping in Los Angeles - can't wait!!

Unless Shea TURNS IT OUT in the next couple episodes, I can totally see Trinity take the crown.

Well, that was exhausting-- 15 runway looks to wade through plus that damn ribbon twirling nonsense. I can't imagine how long the judging must have lasted that day waiting for everyone to do another costume and wig change. It also didn't seem clear that all these looks were supposed to be Drag Ball fabulous. (Even though I adore Sasha, it sure looks like he never got that memo.)

No surprise at the outcome, and yay for Peppermint to revive the classic wig-under-wig reveal in an obvious tribute to RoXxie Andrews. That Peppermint turned out to be such a great lip-syncer was a happy surprise for me. Next week's cut is really gonna hurt since I expect both Sasha and Peppermint to be on the block.

And Brave Sir Robin, please don't tell us what you learned last night at the finale live show at the Alex-- I'd rather stay in the dark till next week's tv show airs. I'm old-fashioned that way.

^ Don't worry, I won't spoil! Can't wait to go this Friday! I'm expecting them to do what they usually do, with all three pretending they've won. We shall see!

^ Whoops, silly me, got my Fridays mixed up. By the time you post your impressions this coming Friday I'll be all caught up on the aired shows, I'll already know the top 3, and you can spoil away! (We were half-tempted to grab a ticket for the show at the Alex which is only 10 minutes from our house, but the 5 hour running time gave us pause...)

I've been watching and enjoying this season very much, but haven't felt compelled to comment, but tonight's episode is so incredibly moving. Such incredibly talented gi-i-lllls. Can we make this required viewing in middle schools ?

(The go-go boys weren't bad either)

After that atrocious dress, I was shocked Perpermint wasn't laughed off the stage. I must say I feel cheated with this no elimination nonsense - when on girl's reason for why she should win is because it would mean something socially, that means they themselves aren't interesting enough to merit the win alone...

I agree. I think Peppermint should be the one to go home. I like Trinity Taylor and felt like they kind of stacked the challenge in favor of Shay and Peppermint. But Taylor and Sasha sold their moments so well. That last lip synch was a bit ho-hum though. I wanted DANCING but they were all good.

I've obviously been Team Sasha for awhile here, but Lord help me, last night was the night she ought to have gone home. Weak rap (although I appreciate her gift for true rhymes), weak performance, and the most hideous god-awful runway look of her entire time on Drag Race. I don't get it. This was her chance to surprise everyone with the most glam pageant-y fishy ELEGANZA gown and wig waiting on her costume rack the whole season long, and she pulls out THAT sad schmatte and another dumb Sasha cartoon crown. Wouldn't it have been inspiring if she had out-pageanted Trinity for a change? And Trinity, bless her heart, came from behind and totally convinced me she deserved top 3 strictly on the basis of that fab gown and wig of hers. THAT to me says drag superstar.

For the record, Peppermint had fab face but a dreadful halloween costume from the neck down. If she really thinks that sad frock was a tribute to 18th Century Russia, she has a LOT more studying to do on the subject. And Shea (who MUST win the whole thing) had fab bod, but we've already seen that blue Jessica Rabbit wig more times than we care to count.

Can't wait for Brave Robin's spoiler-free report back from the Alex Theater at last night's finale. We want the dish.

Prepare to just... honestly I don't know how to explain the finale from what I've heard. I think "Unexpected" does it pretty well. Basically... *SPOILERS*

Performance on the actual show... did not matter, it just ensured your place for finale. It's honestly something that should of actually been live, because for the next two weeks there are going to be A LOT of pissed off people.

The brief for the final runway was more or less Best Drag, no? Why then would Sasha, an artsy club kid, come out looking like a pageant girl? It wasn't my favorite Sasha look, but it served as a pretty good representation of her aesthetic.

^ I'd say it's the same argument as for Bob last year (was it only last year?), when girl was doing comedy-queen-housewife drag for most of the season and then wowed everyone she came out in full on Eleganza gorgeousness when it mattered. You gotta show Ru and everyone at home that you really CAN do more than one kind of drag.

I agree, but the final challenge isn't the time to do that, especially for a queen with a distinct look like Sasha. It's about serving the best version of what you do, and whether or not Sasha's look was that great (I loved the face but the dress was underwhelming) coming out in a giant gown with a face beat for the gods wouldn't have made sense.

Tight race ?? for sure.

Trinity had the best gag-worthy runway last night, and her timing couldn't have been more perfect to bring out the full-on pageantry.

Becacuse Peppermint, aside from her fabulous club kid look, has had costume issues all season, I don't think is a contender, but perhaps she will get Miss congeniality.

The real race is between Trinity, Sasha and Shea.

I'm team Sasha. Her runway last night was what she's been doing all season but I believe in her message.

I'd say it's between Sasha and Trinity, and I'd probably bank on Trinity. I think she's hilarious and almost as entertaining as Alyssa Edwards. And, I mean, does it even matter? Whoever loses will go on all-Stars and rock it!

The finale was NUTS last night. I feel like a lot of people will be upset with both the twists and the first outcomes of them, but these queens gave such phenomenal performances that it will be all worth it. This is NOT how I saw this season going, but it finally made this season interesting.

Ok Robin, now I'm intrigued. Not sure what you mean by twists and "first outcomes of them"-- when have there ever been twists on the finale show? Did all 4 queens get to do their staged numbers before one of them was Sashayed back to the pack? Did one of the queens crash and burn?

We had a friend who had a ticket to the show, but he was asked to be there from 2:30pm on till midnight-- with a proviso that he couldn't leave early-- seriously!! Were you there all day and all night? Yikes, that's commitment.

I'm so curious to know what went down at the taping but refuse to find out any spoilers.  I wish I didn't even read the semi spoilers on here! I have a few good friends who were at the taping but I won't ask them anything....  but their silence since the taping says a lot.  I know one of the queens personally— my friends at the taping are some of her best friends.  I can only assume she doesn't win......  (go back to the first page if you want to know who I'm referencing).

I'm finding it very difficult to resist the temptation of reading all the spoilers. Trying to stay away from RuPaul subreddit is... agonyyyy (beyond power of speech).
