I just heard it on Sirius XM on Broadway. Loved her in "Ugly Betty" and saw her moving performance as Vince Lombardi's wife in "Lombardi". She's such a wonderful supporter of the gay community, that words escape me. Brava!
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
I've seen her in her last three Broadway performances, "Lombardi," "Other Desert Cities," and "Assembled Parties," and she's been an absolute highlight of each Broadway season. So thrilled for her two back-to-back Tony wins, so much deserved.
Oh, and she is one of the kindest, gracious people you will ever meet; the amount of time and generosity she gives at stage door is astonishing! Utmost respect!
