I'm seeing this show tomorrow evening, Wed. July 24, 2013, at the Long Center here in Austin, Texas. I had no idea that Jessica Lee Goldyn was cast as "Cassie." Now I'm really excited! Here is a Houston review of ACL. Clarke, did you see it? from RC in Austin, Texas ACL Houston Review
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
Wow...this seems to "have been" a pretty extensive national tour. I'm trying to see if there are additional dates beyond July 2013.

That tour closed on March 2013. This engagement isn't a tour. It's simply playing in two cities, Houston & Austin. And yes, Goldyn is indeed play Cassie. Again. I believe this is her fifth time playing the role since the Broadway production closed.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I just saw this! I did see it in Houston. The night I went I was rather impressed. The dancing was amazing! My wife interviewed Mitzi Hamilton (the director), and I think she pulled off what she wanted with the production. There has been some dissension about where her vision was good/correct though. She made it more of a dance show and less of a triple threat show. Regardless, Goldyn's "Music and the Mirrors" blew my socks off! I had never seen A CHORUS LINE before, so I was really taken by the performance. I know Jeff Davis (in Austin) was not.
With that said, I have also heard that the show was a technical nightmare at the press opening night at the Long Center. So, I'm sure that didn't help his feelings about it. When I saw it at Miller Outdoor Theatre in Houston, there were some sound issues (mics fading in and out), but everything else was ok. I also had front row tickets, so I could hear the actors over the pit when the mics went out.
In the long run, I'm glad I saw it. I'm sad that the product wasn't perfect. There was some amazing talent on that stage. I look forward to see ACL again and to seeing this cast again as they pop up in other shows.
Yes, I did notice something was off with the sound system, from time to time. I was a bit mystified by having a Zach with a British accent. I thought..."whut?" I was more than a bit bugged that the Long Center here in Austin doesn't have an accessible stage door. Apparently, it's located in the service bay area, where it's off-limits to fans. I wanted to have Jessica Lee autograph my Playbill from the Curran Theatre/San Francisco tryout from June 2006. Oh well. Here's a review from Austin. ACL Austin Review
