Now that we've had time to digest and contemplate the 07 Nominees, and since the ceremony is a little over a week away, it seems time for those final predictions from all of we prognosticators. Here are my picks on who I think WILL win and walk away with a Tony on June 10th. What are yours?

"A birdcage I plan to hang. I'll get to that someday. A birdcage for a bird who flew away...Around the world."
"Life is a cabaret old chum, only a cabaret old chum, and I love a cabaret!"-RIP Natasha Richardson-I was honored to have witnessed her performance as Sally Bowles.
Musical-Grey Gardens/Spring...not sure which cult will prevail Actor in a Musical-Raul Actress in a Play-Angela or Julie Musical Revival-Company Jay Johnson for Event Bill T for Choreo
Don't get me wrong, I think Raul is doing a great job in Company. I just think Michael is giving a stronger and much more intricate performance.
I would be THRILLED THRILLED THRILLED if COMPANY won best Revival, I liked ACL a lot, but LOVED CO. I just don't see it taking the award though. SS doesn't have the best track record in the world winning Tony's (although he did win Score for CO. for the original production.) The loss of ST last year was quite a surprise to most, losing to the Flashier THE PAJAMA GAME. SO many SS productions have been nominated in the category in recent years and lost to more traditional fare.
(FOLLIES losing to 42nd Street, PACIFIC OVERTURES losing to La Cage Aux Folles, SWEENEY TODD losing to the Pajama Game, INTO THE WOODS besting only Oklahoma!, ASSASSINS taking out Wonderful Town/Big River/Fiddler, COMPANY & FORUM losing to King & I, GYPSY losing to Nine )
SS revivals have only won twice since this award started in 1994. 6 different shows have lost 5 times. Chances just dont look good, though I could hope this would be a year they would prevail. Updated On: 5/31/07 at 03:37 PM
I should probably have included that I haven't seen LoveMusik yet. I'm going in a couple of weeks, but even if I had, unless he TRULY blew my mind, I'd still be rooting for Raúl this time around. He's giving one of the most breathtaking performances I have ever seen, loyalty or not. I really don't know what I think is going to happen - at this point, I'd call it more a hope than a prediction.
I loved ACL. My issue with it winning is that... I think revivals should be rewarded for doing more than just being back. ACL could certainly win simply because people adore the show so much, but I think the revival that wins the Tony should be a different take on the show, or a production that brings something fresh to the material. It's got to be more than just a spectacular return of a beloved show. The Apple Tree wasn't as well-received as was 110, which is why I think it's probably a contest between 110 and Company. I certainly hope people find it in their hearts to vote for Company, though.
I tend to agree with you on what the Tony Revival category should mean. Tony Voters don't always go that route though. Pajama Game, La Cage, and The King & I are classic examples.
Cerveris may very well be better, LaCage, but he DID just win and I think the Bway community is dying to give Raul a Tony too--I mean they nommed him for TABOO! And he's playing a classic role, which I do think gives him an edge.
And I think COMPANY has the best shot since SWEENEY lost last year--the Doyle fans can have their revenge! Plus, they had good reviews--better than the other revivals...
Well, the Doyle fans with votes can have their revenge, or the likely higher number of people on the "ew, Doyle!" bandwagon can vote for other shows again. It could go either way.
True, luv, but the Doyle detractors will split their votes amongst the other shows...hopefully. And I'm sure Sondheim factor can pull some votes too--but ya nevah know.

There is a strong possibility of Korie and Frankel winning best score. Lyrics count too and Spring Awakeing has awful lyrics (not to mention terrible music, but I'm in a minority there).
Re: Those unlucky Sondheim revivals. If Company loses, I believe that Sunday in the Park with George or the possible Follies (yeah, like that'll happen) will win next year. The new Sunday... is too brilliant to ignore!

- More Later -
"Y'know, I think Bertolt Brecht was rolling in his grave."
-Nellie McKay on the 2006 Broadway production of The Threepenny Opera, in which she played Polly Peachum
The revival of Pajama Game was changed though, book revisions etc, whereas A Chorus Line didn't change anything! I hope Company wins the Tony. Have many shows won the Outer Critics, Drama League and Drama Desks and not won the Tony? Does it happen often?
"I'm thinking about how if you took the W in
answer, and the H in ghost, and the extra A in aardvark, and the T in listen, you could keep saying WHAT but no one would ever hear you because the whole word would be silent."

Best Musical: Grey Gardens and Spring Awakening will split the vote, leaving it open for Mary Poppins to fly in and take it home. Curtains has a very small chance, but if GG and SA split, and the voters really hated Poppins, Curtains could come out on top. In an extreme case, of course.
Best Play: Coast of Utopia is the obvious choice, but Radio Golf winning would be a fitting send off for August Wilson. Both Little Dog Laughed and Frost/Nixon rely too heavily on performances to sell the piece.
Best Featured Actress in a Musical: If Christine Ebersole wins best actress, the chances of Wilson winning decrease (in a "share the wealth" kind of thing.) It wouldn't be surprise me if Charlotte d'Amboise wins, for her years of service to Broadway, even though Wilson deserves it.
Best Featured Actor in a Musical: Both David Pittu and John Gallagher are giving two of the most nuanced performances of the season. Either of them winning would make me happy.
Best Actress in a Musical: Christine. Ebersole.
Best Direction of a Musical: Michael Mayer - his spirited direction of Spring Awakening assures him of the trophy (not to mention he's won everything leading up to this).
Best Direction of a Play: Jack O'Brien. Anyone who can direct 9 hours of Stoppard, 40 actors, and make it look like cake has my vote.
Best Book of a Musical: Rupert Holmes and Peter Stone for Curtains. It's the only fully original book of the season. Who cares if it's a bit plot-heavy? Plus, a fitting tribute for Stone.
Best Score of a Musical: Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater have created one of the most enjoyable scores of the season, despite the boy/girl band sound and ramptant usage of false rhymes. Kander and Ebb could win, if the committe wants to honor one of the best teams in the biz.
Best Revival of a Play: Journey's End. One word: Kaboom.
Best Revival of a Musical: Company. To make up for the Sweeney Todd snub last year.
Best Leading Actress in a Play: Julie White, who had every single audience choking from laughter. Drama isn't Lansbury's milieu and Cherry Jones' Josie is too fresh in the memory of the voters for Best to win.
Best Leading Actor in a Play: Frank Langella. That phone call seals the deal.
Best Featured Actor in a Play: Anthony. Chisholm.
Best Featured Actress in a Play: Jennifer Ehle, in three difficult parts, all of which are done with ease.
Best Choreography Matthew Bourne and Stephen Mear could steal it from Bill Jones' controlled chaos.
Best Orchestrations Jonathan Tunick for LoveMusik. If he had a baseball card, it would go under the "career highlights" section.
Best Scenic Design of a Play Bob Crowley & Scott Pask.
Best Scenic Design of a Musical Bob Crowley, Mary Poppins. What can't he do?
Best Costume Design of a Play Catherine Zuber, The Coast of Utopia
Best Costume Design of a Musical Legally Blonde.
Best Lighting Design of a Play Brian MacDevitt, Kenneth Posner, and Natasha Katz, The Coast of Utopia
Best Lighting Design of a Musical Kevin Adams, Spring Awakening
