Has anyone seen LENNON yet?

If so, how was the fabulous Chuck Cooper?

Has Terrance Mann rid himself of his terrible pitch problems yet?

I saw it a couple of weeks ago, and though I didn't care for the show at all, I thought Mann was easily the most vocally assured and least strained. It seemed very effortless for him.

I thought Chuck was the best performer up there--it takes alot of talent and experience to make that material interesting...he sounded great though he did push once in a while and his Ed Sullivan bit was easily the highlight of the evening. At least the audience I saw it with thought so.

I agree that Terrence is very vocally assured. He is wonderful in LENNON. It is a fact, though, that the songs he is given in LENNON do not show his full vocal range.

I saw LENNON twice in previews and loved it. The second time I saw it (Sunday), one of the songs was dropped; and another that was sung more by Will Chase on an earlier night of previews was sung by Terrence Mann. All of the performers are great, but I'm glad Terrence is now given a bit more to sing; especially since they cut some of his dialogue (brief as it was) as Stuart an early member of the Beatles group.

From what I've read, there are probably many more changes yet to come. I just hope they don't change anything too drastically. I am looking forward to seeing it again...soon.

I saw Terrance in SF in Lennon, twice (with the silver white mane of hair, and I thought he sounded great. His role in Lennon (at least in SF) had him imitating Mike Douglas, Queen Elizabeth and J Edgar Hoover. Now THAT's covering a lot of ground in one show!

He is still doing the J. Edgar Hoover, Queen Liz, Mike Douglas and David Frost bits...he does them well! Although he had the silver top at the second night of previews; when I saw him last Sunday, his hair was a light brown. It doesn't matter what color hair he has, he is talented.

I agree, he's very talented. I never noticed any pitch problems though... He was EXCELLENT in Rocky Horror, probably one of the top picks to replace Tom...

I completely agree. RH is one of my most favorite shows ever! I know I've seen it more times than any other Broadway show.

One of the reasons I kept going back...Terrence Mann.

that seems odd, adamized, because i have never been to a show and seen Terry without him coming out the stage door (and i have seen him perform over 30 times in about 3 years). however, i do know there were a few occasions when he was in an extreme hurry--he had to rush to his wife, his children, his in-laws, etc.--and couldn't stop and chat. so for him to have snuck out, he must have been in an extreme hurry. he is a wonderfully charming, personable man-- i know he would never just run away from fans because, as he himself once told me, "where would we [performers] be without the fans?"

I love Terry! I really hope that he's not on vacation next week because I'm coming in from Cincinnati to see Lennon. I want to meet him! I love his vocals on The Scarlet Pimpernel so much!

If Percy Blakeney were in Les Mis....

Percy: Sink me! If it isn't Javvurt!
Javert: Zsah-vair, it's pronounced Zsah-vair.
Pecry: But it's spelled J-A-V-E-R-T Javvurt.
Javert: Repeat after me Zsah...Zsah....
Percy: Oh! Zsa-Zsa! Like the Gabor sister! Well I personally have always prefered Eva.

I second what overthemoon said.... it's very unusual for Terry to sneak out another exit unless there was a really good reason.

He's an absolute doll and always willing to chat with and meet his fans.

Haven't seen the show yet, but I'm very much looking forward to it for a number of reasons. Terrence Mann just happens to be one of them. My god, he's... Rum Tum Tugger! Yes, I'm ashamed. But, I just couldn't help myself! re: Terrence Mann

Interesting, I am never a fan of him and don't understand the fuzz about him. His Javert is terrible, his beast is bland. His Chauvline is a little better but not that great.

TM was the very first Broadway star I ever met. I waited for him at the stage door after a play he was doing like 10 years ago about the 7 deadly sins and he was awesome. He signed my playbill and gave me a big hug. He seemed shy and was so flattered I wanted to meet him. He's a doll.

Be the change you want in the world....

sanda, i totally disagree. i saw terry as javert and as the beast (among other roles) and found his javert threatening and deliciously evil, while his beast was tortured and beautiful and sympathetic. he is, in my opinion, one of the greatest actors to ever grace a broadway stage.

Love him. Think he's brilliant. Easily one of the most well-received actors in Lennon, aside from Will Chase. Saw him in RHS. Brilliant again.

Hate the new hair.

He's one of the few I've actually met also -- I met him when he was coming out of Scarlet Pimpernell - he had two huge dogs with him.

He seems so nice. My friends and I went to NY and the main reason was to see him in Lennon but then it got pushed back a week and we did not get to see it, I was quite sad. Hope I get to see him in a play someday!

I am not a John Lennon fan. I do not care for his music. The only reason why I am seeing Lennon is because of Terrence. I hope he has a large part in the production! Will be seeing it August 20th.

Terry is so nice! I met him after Lennon (twice) and he was very willing to speak to fans. I was acting like an idiot though. I almost completely froze when he came out of the stage door. His singing voice is to die for as well.
