Yes, Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus, by Andrew Fenady, will be staged Dec. 13, 14, 19, 20, 21 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 15 and 21 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available at $16 general admission and $13 for seniors over 60 and students under 18. South City Theatre is located at 2969 Pelham Parkway, Suite J, Pelham, Parkway, Pelham, AL 35124.Yes, Virginia.. is inspired by a simple, poignant letter written over 100 years ago by 8-year-old Virginia OHanlon to the editor of the New York Sunand by the timeless editorial response printed on the front page of the Sun. Virginia wondered and wrote: Dear Editor, I am 8 years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says if you see it in the Sun, its so. Please tell me the truth. Is there a Santa Claus? Ed Mitchell, the Suns editor, gives the assignment of answering Virginias letter to Frank Church who, until his wife and baby died last Christmas Eve, was the Suns best and most dependable reporter. Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus is a play for young and old, magically reaffirming lifes highest beauty and joythe eternal light with which childhood fills the world.The production is under the direction of Donna Stinson Williamson and features a talented cast of area performers: Colin Fricker, Michael Wilbanks, Tyler Costley, Jason Bearden, Sofia Herrero, Elliot Dennis, Juliet Carden, Averitt Wells, Patricia Dykhouse, Savannah Grace, Mac Pearson, Gina Vitolo-Stevens, Brooke Watts, Jon Curren, Warren Hamby, Jared Sims, Steven Ross, Sara Curren, Rhonda Ray, and SaDeedra M.
