On June 21st from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., as part of Make Music New York, Joe's Pub will present performances at the Astor Place Cube located at Cooper Sq at Lafayette St. In its fourth year, Make Music New York (MMNY) is a unique festival of free concerts in public spaces throughout the five boroughs of New York City. MMNY takes place simultaneously with similar festivities in more than 327 cities around the world - a global celebration of music making.

The Electric City Playhouse (514 North Murray Avenue, Anderson) will display paintings done by Anderson Artist Guild Member Jean Hill Feeko Paintings from June 1st to July 12th, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.

The award-winning York Theatre Company presents the musical, JESUS' KID BROTHER, May 25th at 3 p.m. The musical is part of the York Theatre Company's Development Reading Series which announced the cast for two other new musicals: THE AGE OF INNOCENCE with a reading on May 27th and LA LLARONA with a reading on June 2nd. Goldblum_20010101 Following a highly successful career on Broadway, Oscar and Tony award-winning actress Mercedes Ruehl joins Jeff Goldblum in THE PRISON OF SECOND AVENUE at the Vaudeville Theatre. Directed by Terry Johnson, Neil Simon's hit comedy THE PRISONE OF SECOND AVENUE will mark Mercedes' London stage debut and will open for previews on June 30th and run until September 11th.

The Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art (MoCCA) announces the first children's comics classes from its Education Department beginning June 19th. The classes, COMIC ART FOR KIDS, focuses on comic art and is for children, ages 8 to 12. The classes offer a child-friendly, streamlined approach to learning the graphic language of line, form, and movement. Instructor Tom Motley will guide students through fun projects and activities designed to enable them to put their imaginative worlds down on paper as actual comics.

Pinckney Players will hold auditions for MY FAIR LADY on June 1st and 2nd at the Jane Tasch Theatre (2130 E. M-36 at McGregor Road, Pinckney). American Stage Theatre Company and the St. Petersburg Museum of History will celebrate the end of American Stage in the Park's first quarter of a century with a Wrap Party at the museum, Tuesday, May 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Light hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be provided. Free admission to the museum's exhibit on the history of American Stage in the Park is included (a suggested donation of $10 will go to help the museum).

Trap Door Theatre (1655 W. Cortland Ave.) will be hosting a post show discussion with Playwright Ken Prestininzi, Director Kate Hendrickson and the cast of CHASTE on Saturday May 22nd, moderated by the Chicago Tribune's Kerry Reid. The cast include Antonio Brunetti, John Kahara, Sara Tolan Mee, and Tiffany Joy Ross.

Street Theatre Company, which was forced to cancel its final two performances of THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE due to the flooding in Middle Tennessee, announces that it is able to bring back the show for one additional weekend. Performances will be held, Friday, May 21st at 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, May 22nd at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Proceeds from the Saturday matinee performance will go to flood victims.
