Toronto lets the sunshine in starting tonight, when the cast of the highly anticipate HAIR revival tour hits the stage at The Royal Alexandra Theatre. The official opening night is Wednesday, December 14th, but BWW is thrilled to be able to bring you this sneak peek no-holds barred talk with tribe members Steel Burkhardt and Marhsal Kennedy Carolan.

Memphis roared into Toronto on Wednesday night, where it will play the Toronto Centre for the Arts until Christmas Eve. A unique blend of original music, choreography and story this show provides a welcome reprise from the revivals and jukebox musicals of late, plus is a toe tapper of a good time as well.

Memphis opened in Toronto this past Wednesday at the Toronto Centre for the Arts. Hometown boy Sergio Trujillo came up from the Great White Way to celebrate with Dancap President Aubrey Dan and the Tony Award from when the show won Best Musical in 2010. On December 6th The Canon Theatre was officially renamed The Ed Mirvish Theatre in honour of theatre impresario Ed Mirvish. Many of Canada's best and brightest talent were on hand for this historic occasion, where David Mirvish paid tribute to his father in a loving and moving ceremony. December 6th marked a historic day for both the city of Toronto and its theatre community as The Canon Theatre was renamed in honour of theatre impresario Ed Mirvish. Sergio Trujillo has had a meteoric rise to success in the world of choreography, at one point having an unprecedented four shows on the Great White Way at the same time. Raised in Toronto, he ventures back North this month to attend the opening night of the Tony Award Winning musical Memphis. John Neville, a celebrated member of Canada's theatre community (and the theatre community worldwide) passed away on November 19th from Alzheimer's Disease at the age of 86. In this special post, BWW looks back over Mr. Neville's career in pictures.
