Netflix has begun releasing original comedies that have had a more realistic and dramatic tone. MODERN ROMANCE, LOVE, and the just-released FLAKED, follow a younger male protagonist as he navigates life and all that that entails: from heartbreak to self-questioning. These comedies are far different from shows like PARKS AND RECREATION or MODERN FAMILY that have outlandish and borderline unrealistic storylines. There are many positives about this new type of comedy television show, but they can also present a very singular view on life and love.
The 88th Annual Academy Awards telecast aired live coast-to-coast on Sunday, February 28th (8:30 PM ET/5:30 PM PT).

Gina Linetti may be the only character on BROOKLYN NINE-NINE who isn't a police officer, but her role in the 99th precinct is much more vital than just an office administrator. Gina is narcissistic, cunning and she isn't afraid to tell it like it is.

Twenty years ago, British television was essentially unknown to Americans. Without streaming services like Netflix or platforms like YouTube, it was virtually impossible to watch any shows from across the pond. Now, thanks to the Internet, British television has found its way into American homes in many different ways.

Every actor wants his or her big break. There are many stars who achieve success with their first role, but for many in the business, it takes years of supporting roles to find the part that makes their career. Sometimes a role on a popular show can seem like “the one,” but the name-making role is just around the corner, as is the case of the actors below.

SHERLOCK is back, kind of. In a one-off New Year's special, Holmes and Watson return--in the 19th century--to solve the case of the Abominable Bride.
Surprisingly, the Season 2 finale of FARGO didn't blow me away like the Season 1 finale did. However, this scene was more about life and consequences, so given the difference to last season--which was more about chaos and disruption--the ending is much more fitting.
Comedians Nick Kroll and John Mulaney have brought their morally ambiguous characters of Gil Faizon and George St. Geegland to the Cherry Lane Theatre for a limited-run play. These caricatured New York-bred characters' over-the-top observations are just inappropriate enough to sustain laughter for 70 minutes of absurdity.
Anxiety. That is how I felt for over half of episode 9 of FARGO, 'The Castle.' There is so much to discuss, but I can't begin this recap without talking about the UFO! The entire season there have been very small glimpses into there being an alien undertone, but we never had any direction for it. In this episode is the most glaringly obvious indication of it: a giant UFO hovers over the carnage at the motel, distracting Bear long enough for Lou to kill him. However, other than it appearing, there is no explanation to it. It just hovers for 30 seconds and then disappears. I wish I had some interesting observation about the symbolism of the UFO, but I honestly have no idea where showrunner Noah Hawley is going with this. I'm just hoping for an explanation in the finale.
The Doctor's motives in 'Heaven Sent' become apparent in the Season 9 finale of DOCTOR WHO. At the end of the previous episode, we found out that The Doctor spent billions of years breaking through the wall, instead of just giving up what he knows about the hybrid. The people who wanted that information were the Time Lords, who trapped him in his own confession dial. When The Doctor returns to Gallifrey, and since he is a war hero to the people, he is able to take over Gallifrey and become president.

Tonight's episode of FARGO took a different turn, only following the perspectives of two sets of people: Ed and Peggy and Hanzee. The episode begins where we left off with Ed after he ran away from Hank and Lou. He returns home and he and Peggy escape with Dodd to his uncle's cabin in the woods. Their plan is to call the Gerhardt's, inform them they have Dodd, and give them Dodd in exchange for their freedom.
In 'Heaven Sent,' Peter Capaldi shines in his first episode alone. Capaldi has no other interactions in the episode, unless you cant the silent hooded figure that follows him the entire time. This episode had a lot of surprises, and really allowed for Capaldi to show his talent and ability to create emotion all on his own.
The chaos continues. After the Kansas City's shoot out of the Gerhardt house, they hold a funeral for Otto, who died in the attack. The Gerhardt's are falling apart: with Rye and Otto dead, Dodd missing, and Bear starting to take matters into his own hands. However, they are able to take out a few Kansas City men, but not enough to make a huge difference.
Well, I knew it was coming, I thought I was prepared, but then it happened, and I realized I wasn't prepared. At. All. Clara is no longer The Doctor's companion. I'm still in shock. I knew it was happening, but I guess I blindly hoped that we'd have her for the full 12 episodes.
