Melbourne’s newest performance venue, The Grange, is transformed into America’s West in an exciting site-specific pop up theatre and bar.

This classic American play sees a young married couple, Jake and Beth, return to their families in the aftermath of an horrific act of violence. Heartbreaking and humourous, this much-loved play explores each family as they struggle to come to terms with Jake’s actions.

This site-specific production of Shepard’s iconic play, features a pop-up bar supported by Stone & Wood and Custard & Co. In his theatrical directorial debut, Caleb Rixon has combined the creative talents of world renown sound artist Leah Barclay and the in demand lighting designer Travis Macfarlane with the acting talents of established and emerging actors.

Conveniently located in the CBD, The Grange offers two performances per week as Pay What You Can. Making theatre more affordable for the audience.

Theatre stalwalds Kaarin Fairfax (who originally played Beth in the Australian Premier at Sydney’s Belvoir St) and Peter Hardy play Beth’s parents and Shayne Francis as the intimable mother of Jake star alongside the emerging talents of Alice Cavanagh, Zack Anthony Curran, Alex Duncan, Lauren-Anne Kempster and Ashley McKenzie

Performances: Tuesday to Saturday at 7pm
