Melbourne Symphony Orchestra presents Marvin Hamlisch

Marvin Hamlisch has become the pre-eminent pops artist of our time.

He has won virtually every major award that exists: three Oscars, four Grammies, three Emmys, a Tony, three Golden Globe awards and the Pulitzer Prize. The composer of the musicals "A Chorus Line," "They're Playing Our Song," "The Goodbye Girl," and the "Sweet Smell of Success" and films including "The Way We Were," "The Sting," "Sophie's Choice," "Ice Castles" and "Bananas," Marvin Hamlisch will perform with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in two concerts only.

Everybody should have Marvin Hamisch's problem. The man's too talented. He's a sensitive pianist, a gifted conductor, an excellent arranger, a composer of originality... -THE INDIANAPOLIS STAR, Charles Staff
