Wordsmith wunderkind Justin Heazlewood cranks up Sunday afternoon storytelling at Bella Union. The Author of 'Funemployed: Life as an Artist in Australia' and part-time Bedroom Philosopher will offer lashings from his library as senior writer for Frankie and forthcoming memoir. Poems, diaries, the back of a Passiona can - nothing is off limits for his dulcet tones. Enjoy a warmly wordy weekend with this witty wizard.

Justin will draw from his prolific back catalogue including 2012's hilariously dark 'The Bedroom Philosopher Diaries' about the rollercoaster of interstate touring. It earned praise from Neil Gaiman, saying "It was what all the great rock and roll touring books would have been like, if the people who wrote them had been honest to the point of embarrassment."

In 2014 Justin stepped away from performance and went behind the curtain to give a brutally honest account of what it means to make a living off art. Along the way he interviewed over 100 artists including Wally De Backer, Courtney Barnett and John Safran. In 2015 he span Funemployed into an eight-part series for Radio National.

"Justin Heazlewood is nothing short of one of Australia's most versatile and important storytellers. It's his written work that really hits me in the guts. In his journalism and personal essays, Heazlewood demonstrates a remarkable capacity to not only make the reader laugh, but think critically about important issues often poorly discussed, such as mental illness, unemployment and the frailty of human relationships."
- Benjamin Law, author of Gaysia & The Family Law.

Justin will be joined by very special guest, Elizabeth Flux, who is a freelance writer and editor with a focus on film and pop culture. She was the winner of the inaugural Feminartsy Fiction Prize and is currently a Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellow working on an essay collection.
