Impromptunes is a show like no other. The lights dim, and the curtain opens on a never-before-seen musical. The catch? The actors hear the title for the first time just seconds before they present the show.
"Every element of the show is improvised - the music, the story, the dialogue... even the dancing! Audience members are on the edge of their seats in anticipation of what comes next," says Director Amanda Buckley. "Watching Impromptunes is a unique theatrical experience. You'll come away singing songs that didn't exist before the show!"
With no time for discussion between the performers, Impromptunes is dangerous, fast paced and exciting. Previous show titles include 'Texas Home-school Prom, 'Squids of Wrath', and 'Mingers on Horseback'. Each show is completely different and full of hijinks, harmonies and hilarity.
Features performers from Spontaneous Broadway, The Big Hoo-Haa! and Impro Melbourne, as well as graduates of Victorian College of the Arts, WAAPA and Arts Academy Federation University. Impromptunes has been twice nominated for Best Comedy in Perth Fringeworld Festival (2014, 2015) and has enjoyed sold out seasons in Melbourne Fringe, Perth Fringe World and Melbourne International Comedy Festivals.
