The South by Southwest (SXSW) events continued and there are many events for everyone. Attending some of the panels helps musicians to get a better understanding of how the music industry works and where it is headed in the future. Musicians can be seen walking all over the Austin Convention Center and they seemed to have a certain kind of enthusiasm as they try to soak it all in. A particular highlight of the day included an interview with director, musician screenwriter and producer, Rob Zombie who shared with everyone the making of his latest film, "The Lords of Salem."

There were musical events happening all over town and I was able to attend a very special event as put on by members of The Buddy Holly Educational Foundation where Buddy's wife Maria Elena was a guest of honor. "The Buddy Holly Educational Foundation is a charitable corporation founded by Peter Bradley and Maria Elena Holly to honor the music, life, legacy and dreams of Maria Elena's late husband Buddy Holly. The mission of the Foundation is to honor Buddy Holly's tremendous legacy and to fulfill Buddy's and Maria Elena's dream of extending musical education, including songwriting, production, arranging, orchestration, and performance education to new generations regardless of income or ethnicity or learning levels. In this way, the Foundation wants to empower a new generation to follow in Buddy's footsteps and remind them of his heritage. For further detailed information on the Foundation please visit: http://www.tbhef.org/."

This was a very intimate and unique glimpse at some great musicians who performed especially for the event at a private residence. Performers included country legends The Wagoneers, Grammy nominated Seth Glier (whom I had a chance to interview) and Willie Nile who has performed with legends such as Bruce Springsteen, The Who and Ringo Starr. They all are very talented and those in attendance had a rare treat.

South by Southwest (SXSW) continues this week through Sunday. Be sure to check out the website to see what great shows are still to come. www.sxsw.com.
