Youth Theatre at the U will perform Great American Tall Tales, an original musical comedy about 19th century heroes of legend, at Kingsbury Hall on the University of Utah campus on Friday, March 20 at 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 21 at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 and are available at www.kingtix.com or by calling 801-581-7100.

The 11AM performance on Saturday is a sensory friendly performance, designed to create an atmosphere that is friendly and welcoming to families with children on the autism spectrum or other disabilities that create sensory sensitivities. Though all families are welcome at all three performances, the 11AM Saturday sensory friendly performance will include some additional resources and accommodations, including a guide to visiting the theatre to help prepare children, lower sound level when needed, especially for loud or startling sounds, and house lights remaining on at a low level in the theatre during the performance.

Great American Tall Tales brings the familiar legends of the 19th century to life. Featuring Paul Bunyan and Johnny Appleseed, as well as a fictional version of Davy Crocket's wife Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind, a composite of various real-life women, the show features rip-roaring action, broad humor and colorful (yet kid-friendly!) language to retell favorite tall tales.
