'Xanadu' T-Shirt Design Contest Winner Announced!

 The "Share Your Xanadu T Shirt Design Contest" has found a winner. Sharon Kramer's t shirt design was hand-picked by the cast from among over 50 submissions. Her winning t shirt will be printed as a limited edition and sold at the Helen Hayes Theatre merchandise booth. Kramer is a retired banker from Floral Park, NY and a regular Broadway theatergoer. Kramer said  "My favorite pastime is going to see shows on Broadway. I saw the second preview of "Xanadu" and since then have seen the show 13 times. I am thrilled beyond words that something I created will be a part of the "Xanadu" merchandise for people to buy and enjoy."  The design is a 'comedy in the bag' theme and refers to a moment when Danny Maguire (played by Tony Roberts) first meets Sonny Malone (Cheyenne Jackson).

Xanadu is the roller-skating, disco-dancing, glow-stick-waving smash-hit musical! Taking audiences back to 1980 California, this hilarious new musical follows the beautiful Kira, who travels to earth to inspire a struggling young artist named Sonny. A vision in leg warmers and wind- swept hair, she helps this hunky painter find his voice, discover true love and build the world's first roller disco (not necessarily in that order). The recording features the Original Cast including stars Kerry Butler, Cheyenne Jackson, Tony Roberts, Mary Testa and Jackie Hoffman and features Curtis Holbrook, Anika Larsen, Kenita Miller and Andre Ward.

Xanadu has book by Douglas Carter Beane, music and lyrics by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar and is directed by Christopher Ashley, with choreography by Dan Knechtges. Eric Stern is musical director.
