WPPAC Teams Up With Barnes & Noble and The Story Pirates for a Book Fair, 3/30

On March 31 from 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm, White Plains Performing Arts Center (WPPAC) and Barnes & Noble are teaming up for a Bookfair to raise money for additional family friendly programming here at WPPAC. To help make the Bookfair a special event, special guests The Story Pirates will be performing in the theatre and in Barnes & Noble.

The Bookfair starts at 1:00 pm and will feature a preview of WPPAC's upcoming shows in the Barnes & Noble store on the first floor of City Center. WPPAC will receive a percentage of sales from any purchases made from WPPAC supporters.

That's right, on March 31, if ANYONE presents the voucher (found at wppac.com) at ANY Barnes & Noble store ANYWHERE in the United States, a percentage of that sale will go directly to us for our Family & Kids Series. So let Grandma in Florida, the cousins in Wichita or even your neighbors right across the street know how they can help. We really appreciate it!

Described as "Monty Python meets Schoolhouse Rock," The Story Pirates (www.storypirates.org) is a nationally respected education and media organization founded in 2003 to celebrate the words and ideas of young people.

Their world-class teachers and first-rate actors and comedians teach creative writing to kids and then adapt the stories the kids write into skits and musical numbers. All the stories are written by kids!!!  On March 31, they will be performing their "Greatest Hits" Show at White Plains Performing Arts Center at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Tickets: $17 for Adults and $13 for Kids (16 & Under). To purchase tickets, call the Box Office at (914) 328-1600 or online atwww.wppac.com. You may also visit the WPPAC box office Monday-Friday between 11 am and 5 pm. Group sales also available.  The Story Pirates will also be performing a FREE preview of their show in Barnes & Noble at Center City at 4:30 pm. 

They've been featured on the "Making a Difference" segment of NBC's Nightly News and in the NY Post.  Over the years, the Story Pirates have teamed up with many celebrities, including Jon Stewart and Conan O'Brien, to raise money to take their program to more schools. White Plains Performing Arts Center is located at 11 City Place in the heart of downtown White Plains.
