WCT Art Gallery Now Features Jody Emery Work

The Waukesha Civic Theatre will display the work of Jody Emery from January 16th through February 24th in the Waukesha State Bank Art Gallery.

Jody's artwork is made from mostly bits of recycled steel scrap metal adhered to thin steel plate and encased in clear epoxy resin. Spirals, circles and ovals are recurring shapes in her work, as all have metaphoric references to growth, life cycles, and evolution, both small scale and large, personal and universal.

Her compositions suggest the concepts of coming together and moving apart, opposing states of distillation/migration, dispersion/coalescence, evaporation/condensation.

Her favorite way to work is improv style, when there is no particular plan for a piece, just a free and experimental journey with compositional decisions made in an instant, in real time, in the present moment.

The Waukesha State Bank Art Gallery is located in the Margaret Brate Bryant Civic Theatre building, 264 W. Main Street, downtown Waukesha. The Waukesha Civic Theatre Box Office and Art Gallery are open from Noon - 5:00 pm Tuesday - Friday, and will be open two hours prior to weekend performances of The Pirates Of Penzance, Jr., ACT Live!, Perfect Wedding, and Comedy Tonight?s My Funny Valentine.
