The Society of Voice Arts & Sciences (SOVAS) will hold the 1st Annual 'Voice Arts Awards' on Sunday, November 9th in New York (Astoria) at the Museum of the Moving Image at 8:00pm ET. The "Oscars for Voice", the awards s ceremony recognizes top tier voiceover artists from film, television, audiobooks, video games, and commercials. It's the first awards program to honor A-list entertainers and voiceover artists in this billion-dollar industry. Among the esteemed nominees are Kate Winslet, Gretchen Mol, Katy Perry, John Hamm and Bobby Carnavale.

Legendary actor James Earl Jones will be in attendance at the awards ceremony to accept the 'Voice Icon Award' for his body of signature voice work like Darth Vadar and being the voice of CNN. And the life of Robin Williams will be celebrated with a special tribute. The Society of Voice Arts & Sciences is also a non-profit organizations and a portion of the proceeds from the event will go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Alzheimer's Research.

The ceremony is located at the Museum of the Moving Image / 36-01 35th Ave, New York, NY (Astoria)

That's Voiceover! is a related career expo and conference that will also be held at the Museum of the Moving Image on Monday, November 10th, for aspiring voice actors who want to break into the business. SOVAS will present a special award there, called the Backstage Vanguard Award for Education, presented by SOVAS and sponsored by Backstage Magazine.

Travel Channel will also be conducting a casting search for the next "Travel Channel Star!" on site Monday at the conference, between 10am and 7pm ET.
