White House nutrition advisor and chef Sam Kass said that a new CDC report showing a modest drop amongst low-income children in the United States is "an unprecedented breakthrough" and that we "are really seeing the country unite around our kids' health," in an extensive interview that was broadcast live, today, August 7, 2013, on CBS This Morning (7:00-9:00AM) on the CBS Television Network. Check out his interview below!

"We know that for the first time in over three decades, since the beginning of this epidemic, we're seeing broad declines," Kass told co-hosts Norah O'Donnell and Anthony Mason. "It's not happening by mistake. It's happening because people are stepping up, from parents, teachers, doctors and community leaders to really make some changes, and that's why we're seeing such good results."

Chris Licht is the Vice President of Programming, CBS News, and Executive Producer of CBS THIS MORNING.
