While discussing her new self-titled album with PEOPLE this week, star of stage and screen, Idina Menzel, explained why her son hates to hear her singing. "I played him the first song on the album, it's called 'Small World,' and he started crying," shared the Tony winner, adding, "He said, 'Mommy, it makes me miss you!'" Watch the video clip below!

Menzel's voice can be heard as Elsa in Disney's global box office smash "Frozen," in which she sings the film's Oscar-winning song "Let It Go," and in the follow-up short, "Frozen Fever."

Menzel earned her first Tony nomination as Maureen in the Pulitzer Prize winner RENT and won the award for her performance as Elphaba in WICKED. Other notable projects include "Glee" and Disney's "Enchanted." She most recently appeared on Broadway in IF/THEN.
