The South Street Seaport is celebrating Valentine's Day with four nights of exciting activities, perfect for the first date, Golden Anniversary or any couple in-between.
Embrace the cold weather, and your sweetheart, at the Seaport's new FRONT/ROW CUBE, a heated cube-shaped venue open daily from 2:00pm-12:00midnight, housing lounge-style seating where visitors can enjoy a daily food and drink menu and wait staff service. Also serving as a temporary entertainment venue, FRONT/ROW CUBE is home to FRONT/ROW STAGE, where, on Thursday, February 13, the renowned Upright Citizens Brigade will present Shuffle at the Seaport. The legendary improv troupe will perform a free show at 7pm, highlighting the humor of love. (RSVP required, 21+).
On Friday, February 14, couples can get into the groove with Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra, who will take to the FRONT/ROW STAGE at 7pm. The 11-piece Latin band adds some spice to indie-rock favorites, giving songs from artists including TV On The Radio, Peter Bjorn & John, Spoon, Arcade Fire and more a distinctively salsa-twist. Salsa dance lessons will also be provided by Joey Corsica, making for an unforgettable Valentine's Day night (RSVP required, 21+).
Couples looking to extend their Valentine's Day fun into the weekend can check out the new SEE/CHANGE outdoor ice skating rink, which has quickly become one of the top skating destinations in New York City. Open daily through March 2014, the SEE/CHANGE outdoor ice skating rink is complete with a Seaport Skate Shop where skaters can warm up with delicious food and beverages.
