UPDATE: Candlelight Vigil For Theater Journalist Randy Gener Set for Sunday

BroadwayWorld.com has learned that while details are currently scarce, theater journalist Randy Gener is currently recovering in the ICU from brain surgery.

Gener was reportedly assaulted on January 17th, shortly before 4am after leaving a party in midtown, and was found in the vicinity of 7th Avenue near 54th/55th Street. He is said to have suffered severe head trauma, from which he is currently recovering in the Neuro ICU.

There will be a candlelight vigil to support Randy tomorrow, Sunday, January 26. It will take place at 6pm at 53rd Street and 7th Avenue. Bring your own candles, bundle up, and be prepared to march a few blocks. More details HERE.

Police are asking anyone with more information to come forward, and the active case file is #485, under Detective Enis at the 18th Precinct at (212) 767-8400.
