UNIQLO Announces Opening Dates for Ten New Stores

UNIQLO, the global clothing retailer, has announced the fall opening dates for its ten new mall stores in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and California. With the opening of the new stores in October and November, UNIQLO will have a total of 17 stores in the U.S., in addition to the UNIQLO.com online shopping platform.

The stores will all carry the innovative, casual clothing UNIQLO provides for men, women and kids, including the popular Heattech innerwear and high-tech Ultra-Light Down jackets. There will be more information available closer to opening day on activities and special promotions for each opening weekend.

The opening dates are:

  • New Jersey
    o Bridgewater Commons Mall in Bridgewater, NJ (October 4 th)
    o Menlo Park Mall in Edison, NJ (November 1 st)
  • New York
    o Staten Island Mall in Staten Island, NY (October 18 th)
    o Atlantic Terminal Mall in Brooklyn, NY (October 25 th)
    o Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove, NY (November 8 th)
  • Connecticut
    o Westfield Trumbull Shopping Center in Trumbull, CT (November 8 th)
  • California
    o Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo, CA (October 11 th)
    o Stonestown Galleria in San Francisco, CA (October 18 th)
    o Westfield Valley Fair Mall in Santa Clara, CA (October 25 th)
    o Bay Street Emeryville in Emeryville, CA (November 1 st)

To celebrate, UNIQLO has created the free UNIQLO USA app for Apple products. It will be available on Android devices later this year. By using the app's Virtual Cam on UNIQLO logos and icons, fans will have access to behind-the-scenes videos, current employment opportunities, "weekly favorites" and a store locator. They will also be the first to know about new arrivals, special promotions and more.

To support their retail expansion, a new UNIQLO.com will debut this fall. Customers will find a more interactive site featuring digital life tools, how-to videos, in-depth product information and an insider look at LifeWear.

The new stores are strategically placed surrounding the brand's current flagship stores on the East and West Coasts. To staff the new stores, UNIQLO is still in process of hiring and training several hundred full-time and part-time employees at all levels. There are currently seven open stores, including three in New York City (5 th Ave., 34 th St., Soho New York), two in New York State (Westchester's Ridge Hill, Palisades Center), one in Paramus, NJ (Westfield Garden State Plaza), and one in San Francisco, CA (Union Square).
