An exciting year for thrilling book collections just got even more exhilarating with the announcement of the 2016 NAPPA winners.

Parents and educators will recognize the coveted seal from one of the longest running awards programs in the nation. For 25 years, NAPPA has been the premier choice for familiar seeking the most effective educational products for their kids. The NAPPA program evaluates products from a range of categories from toys and games to software and apparel. Over the years, August House titles have frequently appeared on their list of award-winning children's books.

Published in April, Ancient and Epic Tales from Around the World joins the long list of award-winning work from popular author and storyteller, Heather Forest. This book marked the third and final title in her Tales from Around the World trilogy. The previous two books in the series both won the Storytelling World Anthology Award and the PLAPLA/ALLS Best New Books award. A little known fact about Heather is that she often sings her stories before writing them down. As a result, her lyrical pose is tightly woven into her work to subtly captivate her readers. Heather lives on Long Island in Huntington, New York.

Released just in time for Halloween, Scariest Stories Ever Told by Roberta Simpson Brown, "Queen of the Cold-Blooded Tales," marks her fourth collection of scary stories with August House. Roberta's stories feature settings and characters that take place in familiar situations to heighten the suspense for young readers. Her audience will feel gripped with fear when they realize they had "better not mess with things best left alone." Roberta is currently working on a new scary story collection from her home in Middletown, Kentucky.

Both Ancient and Epic Tales from Around the World (hardcover, 978-1-941460-35-1 or paperback, 978-1-939160-87-4) and Scariest Stories Ever Told (paperback, 978-1-939160-99-7) are available through Amazon or local bookstores.
