Town Hall Hosts 'An Evening With Kelli O'Hara', 6/3

On June 3, 2011, for one night only, The Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street) will present Broadway star and Tony ®Award nominee, Kelli O'Hara in "An Evening with Kelli O'Hara." With this concert, Ms. O'Hara is launching an album for Ghostlight Records, "Always."

"An Evening with Kelli O'Hara" is a part of Town Hall's 2011 90th Anniversary season that also includes "Easy to Love: Andrea Marcovicci & Jeff Harnar sing Cole Porter" (June 9), "Broadway By The Year®: Musicals of 1997" (June 20), and "Dee Dee Bridgewater: To Billie with Love a Celebration of 'Lady Day.'" (June 24).

Kelli O'Hara has unequivocally established herself as one of Broadway's outstanding leading ladies. She recently garnered her third Tony ® Award nomination for her soulful portrayal of Nellie Forbush in the Tony Award-winning revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "South Pacific" at the Lincoln Center Theater. Aside from her illustrious theater career, Kelli has traveled the country and performed solo, as well as with other famous singers, conductors, and orchestras. Her most recent performances include: The Seattle Symphony with Marvin Hamlisch, Boston Pop's Tour in Florida under the direction of Keith Lockhart, and Avery Fisher Hall with Nathan Gunn and the New York Philharmonic.

Kelli O'Hara made her Broadway debut in "Jekyll & Hyde" in 2000, followed by Sondheim's "Follies," "Sweet Smell of Success" opposite John Lithgow, and "Dracula." In 2005, "The Light in the Piazza" was moved from the Intiman Theater in Seattle to Broadway where Kelli earned her first nominations for a Tony and Drama Desk Award. She then received Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Award nominations in 2006, when she joined Harry Connick Jr. in the Tony ® award-winning production of "The Pajama Game." She most recently starred in the Encore presentation of "Bells are Ringing." Kelli also starred in the critically acclaimed production of "My Fair Lady" in March of 2007 at the New York Philharmonic as Eliza Doolittle. In 2009, she performed at the Kennedy Center Honors as part of the Barbra Streisand tribute and performed on PBS's National Memorial Day Concert live from Washington, D.C. Among Kelli O'Hara's film and television credits are S"ex & The City 2." Martin Scorsese's "The Key to Reserva" opposite Simon Baker; "The Dying Gaul" with Patricia Clarkson and Campbell Scott; Alexander Hamilton (PBS); "NUMB3RS" (CBS); "All My Children" (ABC); "Blue Blood" (NBC pilot); "All Rise" (NBC pilot), and the animated series "Car Talk" (PBS). She has many recordings of her musical theater works and she released a solo album, "Wonder in the World," on Ghostlight Records in 2008.
