Touring Broadway shows, major orchestras, and performing arts productions announced the launch of "Touring Green," a new entertainment industry initiative to help offset the impact of carbon emissions from transporting theatrical equipment. In cooperation with Clark Transfer, Inc., the leading theatrical transportation provider, and NativeEnergy, Inc., a leading international provider of high quality carbon offsets, the touring productions will offset the carbon emissions from transporting their sets, instruments, and other theatrical equipment. Offsets will be generated by new wind turbines, methane digesters on American family farms, and landfill gas projects.
Touring productions travel millions of miles every year to bring quality entertainment to people from coast to coast. The trucks transporting the equipment emit thousands of tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere. Productions participating in the Touring Green program are helping fund short- and long-term projects through NativeEnergy to offset the impact of these emissions.

Monty Python's Spamalot, the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, Roundabout Theatre Company's
Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Roundabout Theatre Company's Twelve Angry Men, the Seattle Symphony, the Washington Ballet and the Washington National Opera.
