Today, we are taking a look at a clip from the 1993 Tony Awards with a special performance by that year's host, legendary star of stage, screen and the recording industry: Liza Minnelli along with Barry Bostwick sing an original song written especially for that year's elaborate opening production number "Celebrate Broadway".

With nods to many of the currently running musicals - as well as many an homage to past hits - this striking and smoothly directed opening number gives us just a taste of the talent a performer like Miss Minnelli is capable of, but it is such a treat to see a original material being written for such an original performer like Liza with a Z. Also featured in the ensemble of this number are Bill Irwin from FOOL MOON and cast members from the then currently-running FALSETTOS, THE Will Rogers FOLLIES, GUYS & DOLLS and others.

If that just isn't enough Liza for you, then you also may enjoy checking out this bonus clip of the opening number from the 1996 Tony Awards with many more special surprises and excellent performances to entice you! Revel in the performances of not only Liza, but Bernadette Peters, Nathan Lane and many more!

That's all for today, be sure to stay tuned to BroadwayWorld everyday until Tony Award Sunday for all Tony Award-related news, articles, interviews and digital media. 'Til tomorrow...
