Linda Lavin, Broadway Tony Award winner, Emmy-nominated television star and singer, takes the stage of the Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts as part of its American Legends Series for an 'Actors Studio'-type Interview On Stage on Sunday, April 13 (2014) at 3pm. The Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts is located on the campus ofSacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut.

The afternoon, hosted by Jerry Goehring, Executive Director of The Edgerton Center, will feature video clips ofMs. Lavin's stage, television and film career, her interview on stage followed by a Q&A with members of the audience.

Linda Lavin is currently in rehearsal for the upcoming Off-Broadway premiere of Nicky Silver's Too Much at the Vineyard Theatre. Inducted into the Theater Hall of Fame in January 2011, she began her stage career in the chorus of musicals and credits her great friend and mentor, Harold Prince, with changing her life by casting her in her first speaking role (It's A Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman) on a New York stage as well as other roles thereafter.

After winning a Tony Award for Neil Simon's Broadway Bound, Lavin was most recently nominated for The Lyonsas well as for Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Collected Stories, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife and The Diary Of Anne Frank. She has also performed starring roles on Broadway in Other Dessert Cities, Gypsy, The Sisters Rosensweig, Hollywood Arms and the Kennedy Center 2011 production of Follies.

Lavin's television career includes her nine-year run as the title character in "Alice" (winning two Golden Globe awards) and starring roles on "Barney Miller," "The O.C." and "Conrad Bloom." Her most recent television role was the pushy mother of Sean Hayes in NBC's "Sean Saves the World." Other television guest appearances include "Rhoda," "Law and Order" and "The Sopranos."

Whenever her schedule allows, she performs her concert act. "Possibilities" with her musical director, Billy Stritch, while promoting her new CD of the same title.

Lavin and her multi-talented husband and drummer, Steve Bakunas, created the Red Barn Studio, a 47-seat theater they built in the community of Wilmington, North Carolina, for which they have also performed or directed nine plays in the past three years. Those productions include Doubt, Driving Miss Daisy, Speed-the-Plow, Tale of the Allergist's Wife, Collected Stories and Rabbit Hole.
