Originally announced to end its run on June 4th at The Actor's Playhouse (100 Seventh Avenue South), The Property Known as Garland is closing early on May 21st.

Starring Adrienne Barbeau in the title role of the legendary performer, the Billy Van Zandt play began previews on March 13th and opened on March 23rd. At closing, it will have played 12 previews and 68 regular performances.

Directed by Glenn Casale, the show is "a fictional account of Judy backstage at her final concert appearance at Falkoner Center in Copenhagen in 1969." The Property Known as Garland also features Kerby Joe Grubb.

Barbeau, while best-known to TV audiences for her work on "Maude," is a stage veteran who originated the role of Betty Rizzo in Grease; she received a Tony Award nomination and a Theatre World Award for her work in the show. The actress, who also appeared in the original Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof, has been seen on screen and on TV in "Carnivale," Ghost Rock, No Place Like Home, Swamp Thing, Escape from New York, The Cannonball Run, The Fog and others.

Charlie Smith (sets), Cynthia Nordstrom (costumes) and Richard Winkler (lighting) comprise the design team of The Property Known as Garland.

Tickets, which range from $35-$65, can be purchased beginning December 19th by calling (212) 239-6200. For more information, visit www.PropertyKnownAsGarland.com.
