The Philharmonia Orchestra of New York (PONY), a modern orchestra dedicated to breaking classical conventions, announces its upcoming 2017 season on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, with a concert and presentation at Jazz at Lincoln Center. In keeping with PONY's commitment to exciting visuals, the event will include video excerpts of the orchestra performing Mahler and Berlioz and a trailer highlighting PONY's upcoming season.

The event will also feature a live performance of a string quartet by PONY's talented musicians and a TED-style talk - Beethoven & Brahms to the Beatles and Billy Joel - by PONY Principal Conductor Atsushi Yamada. Maestro Yamada will draw on his own experience in classical music to show the hidden connection between classical and popular music, and how PONY is blurring these genre lines.

Admission is free. RSVP at http://philharmoniany.eventbrite.com/.

PONY embraces the works of great classical composers while pushing the boundaries of the symphonic experience with high resolution, original films accompanying the music, making for an immersive experience. PONY's members have played with many of New York's greatest orchestras. Interviews are available with:

· Atsushi Yamada, Principal Conductor. A dynamic, self-taught musician, Maestro Yamada was a regular conductor at New York City Opera, where he conducted hundreds of performances.

· David Titcomb, Managing Director. Mr. Titcomb has played in over 2,500 performances with the Metropolitan Opera.

· PONY's diverse and talented musicians
