Matthew Cox's 3-Part Epic, Geek Comedy Kapow-i GoGo will premiere at The Peoples Improv Theater (The PIT) February 16th through March 10th.

Following the highly successful and critically acclaimed runs of Chiara Atik's Women (New York Times Critic's Pick) and Recent Cutback's Hold On To Your Butts at The Peoples Improv Theater (Time Out New York Critics Pick), The PIT is proud to announce it's newest theatrical comedy, Kapow-i GoGo by Matthew Cox.

Her name is Kapow-i GoGo. And she's going to save the world. Again. And again. And again. Matthew Cox's Kapow-i GoGo is an epic, three-part, live-action hybrid of Dragon Ball Z, Cyberpunk Space Operas, most of the Final Fantasies and every other after-school cartoon you watched in the mid-to-late '90s. It's a Geek Coast of Utopia. A Nerd Gatz.

...with cooler hair.

...and more robotic appendages.

Kapow-i GoGo is a theatrical experience built for an audience used to binge-watching Netflix.

Kapow-i GoGo began as one of the most popular plays at The Flea Theater's #serials@theflea. For the PIT run, the show has been expanded and re-conceived into three totally new, separate evenings: Kapow-i GoGo Gooooo!, Kapow-i GoGo Z, and Kapow-i GoGo Returns spanning three decades and following our plucky blue-haired fighter on her journey to collect all the legendary Hydra Crystals, to compete in the World's Martial Arts Tournament, to far-flung future dystopias and fights with power-mad cybernetic generals, giant robots, mountain monsters and assorted other final bosses. And, of course, saving the princess.

The PIT's Artistic Director Kevin Laibson had this to say: "I was a rabid fan of Kapow-i when I saw it at The Flea, and we're excited as hell to pair this huge, bombastic show with some of the best, most theatrical acts from The PIT. Producing a 9-show, 30-performance episodic theater event with three different viewing options is a tough beast to wrangle, but with The PIT's hyper-repertory programming model as well as the abundance of talented performers/producers with ready-to-go shows that makes up New York's comedy scene, the whole project became considerably more manageable. Cox, Parker, and Soren are just crazy enough to pull this whole thing off. Also, Madeleine Bundy tears the stage apart in the role, and the city deserves another chance to see her."

Kapow-i GoGo is written by Matthew Cox with direction by Kristin McCarthy Parker (Hold On To Your Butts) and Joel Soren. Production design by Joel Soren. Costume design by Josh Boerman. Score by Brian Hoes. Fight choreography by Alex Gould.
